ELPA Statement on Travel Disruptions Affecting EuroLeague Players

Mar 4, 2026 | Home News, News

Over the last four days, the EuroLeague Players Association (ELPA) has been in direct contact with several EuroLeague players who were impacted by travel disruptions in the UAE. Working closely with the relevant stakeholders, ELPA has actively supported and coordinated alternative travel arrangements to ensure that affected players and their families could reunite with their clubs as quickly and safely as possible.

The final group of players from Partizan, Maccabi and ASVEL is currently en route to Ljubljana, Slovenia. From there, they are scheduled to fly to their respective final destinations.

ELPA would like to sincerely thank Dubai Basketball for their efforts, cooperation, and willingness to assist in evacuating their players, and players & families of other clubs, who were stranded in UAE and unable to secure their flights. Dubai Basketball’s support was instrumental in ensuring a safe and timely resolution.

Player safety and wellbeing remain ELPA’s highest priority. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and stand ready to provide assistance whenever our members face unforeseen challenges.
