EuroLeague Players Association conducted its fourth annual Players’ Choice Awards, where EuroLeague players had the opportunity to choose the winners in nine different categories. For each category, five players were nominated, while voters had an opportunity to add additional name to the list, if needed. Winners in each category are those players who received the biggest majority of votes, voted exclusively by the EuroLeague players.
Mike James, the winner of the “Most Valuable Player” award:
“The recognition from the players is almost more important than actually winning the award itself. Getting respect from your peers is the highest form of flattery and in my opinion they have the best opinion on the game. I am very thankful for that.”
Kostas Sloukas, the winner of the “Best 6th Man” and “Most Clutch Player” awards:
“I want to thank from the bottom of my heart all players that voted for me. It is a special honor to recognize the effort that I put into the court, especially when the votes come from the EuroLeague players. It was an amazing season, with good moments and tough loses, but we stayed together as a team and reached the biggest target of any European club.“
Kyle Hines, the winner of “Most Respected Player” award:
“Respect is one of the highest qualities a person can have. I’m grateful that my EuroLeague peers voted me for this honor for the 4th year in a row. I’m truly appreciative and grateful.”
Alec Peters, the winner of “Most Improved Player” award:
“I am thankful to be in the position to play for a great club, surrounded by great teammates and it is definitely special to be recognized in such a way, from the players that I battle against during our EuroLeague games.”
