ELPA mourns Janis Timma

Dec 17, 2024 | Home News, Media, News, Off Court

It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to former Euroleague player Janis Timma. Janis has been our great friend and member of ELPA Players’ Board from 2019 to 2021, laying down foundation of ELPA for future generation of players.

Janis’s journey in basketball was nothing short of remarkable. Hailing from Latvia, his passion for the game ignited at a young age. Throughout his career, Janis played for Euroleague teams Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, Olympiacos Piraeus, Khimki Moscow Region and UNICS Kazan, earning accolades and respect from teammates, opponents, and fans alike.

Our deepest condolences go out to Janis’s family, friends, teammates and the basketball community. May he rest in peace as he will forever remain a part of the game he loved.

To players: if you find yourself in a situation where you need help or if anybody knows a teammate that is struggling with mental health crisis, do not hesitate to contact ELPA for immediate consultation with our mental well-being professionals.
