Barcelona, 18 September, 2025 – The EuroLeague Players Association (ELPA) hosted its annual General Assembly 2025 in Barcelona, bringing together players, leadership, and key partners to shape the future for players within Europe’s top basketball club competition.

The assembly began with official introductions and the confirmation of formalities, ensuring transparency in procedure and the participation of all eligible voting members. From there, players reviewed and voted on proposed statute changes, reflected on the achievements of the 2024/25 season, and looked ahead to the strategic plan for 2025/26.

A key part of the agenda was dedicated to special sessions that addressed some of the most pressing issues for players today. First sessions explored ELPA’s expanding Mental Wellbeing and Second Career Programs, highlighting resources available to support players both on and off the court. Another session focused on group licensing opportunities, presented by Ahmad Nassar, CEO of Winners Alliance, who shared insights on how collective commercial rights can bring new revenue streams to athletes worldwide. Finally, players engaged in an open dialogue on relations with referees, joined by Sreten Radović, President of UEBO, to foster stronger communication and mutual understanding within the game.

The General Assembly is where players take ownership of their collective future,” said Alec Peters, First Vice-President of ELPA. “From mental wellbeing to second career planning, to collective commercial opportunities and referees’ relations – this year’s agenda was full of topics that matter deeply to every EuroLeague player.”

Boštjan Nachbar,ELPA Managing Director, added: “We are proud to create a platform where players can address both present and future challenges. The inclusion of partners such as Winners Alliance and UEBO shows our commitment to constructive dialogue and progress for the entire basketball ecosystem.”

The General Assembly 2025 reinforced ELPA’s commitment to empowering players both on and off the court – building on already strong, united, and forward-looking basketball community.
